GIIS Singapore is Singapore’s largest international school with 4000+ students across 3 campuses in Singapore- GIIS Queenstown, GIIS East Coast and GIIS Balestier. GIIS schools offer a distinctive curriculum from pre-school to the Junior college levels. GIIS Queenstown campus covers K-12 with a choice of CBSE, IGCSE, IB Curricula and focuses on high school and junior college with extensive laboratory facilities for Sciences, Mathematics, Bio-Technology, Computer Sciences and Information Practices.

GIIS East Coast has one of the finest facilities for its students, consisting of a 400 m athletic running track, two cricket grounds, and basketball, tennis, badminton, and volleyball courts. GIIS East Coast offer K-10 covering Global Montessori Plus as well as IGCSE and CBSE curricula.

GIIS Balestier has a highly acclaimed Montessori Kindergarten and Primary School till grade 5 and holds the honour of being officially opened by the former President of the Republic of India, APJ Abdul Kalam.

History

The school was established on 11 November 2001. It was the first Indian international school in Singapore and was known as the Indian Central School (ICS). In 2004 the school became part of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan group and changed its name to Bhavan's Indian International School (BIIS). In 2006, the name school adopted its present name to reflect its expansion outside Singapore. GIIS now also has 21 campuses in Singapore, USA, Malaysia, Japan, UAE, Thailand, Vietnam and India.

The Global Indian International School (East Coast Campus) won India’s National Quality Award for 2008. Considered one of the most coveted awards in organisational excellence, GIIS Singapore scored an amazing 1000(out of 1000) in excellence criteria which is exactly same as Malcolm Baldrige. GIIS Chairman, Atul Temurnikar said, “Winning a national award in India proves GIIS’s school education has been recognised as one of the best in India, and GIIS will continue its journey of school excellence to build leaders of tomorrow.”[3]
